Group assignment

This group assignment gives students with best opportunity to work with real business news and to apply the many concepts learned in the course to the news content. In this assessment, students need to work in a group and to create a single report form from a particular group. The group will contain two and four students in each group.

The value of this assignment is 18%. Students have to state the word length of their answer after each question. 5% leeway on the word limit and any extra violation will be penalized.

Students will need to read the Wikipedia article on VolksWagen emission scandal. You will find an actual case study in your assignments. We provide this case study for reference purpose only.

4Q.: Are there any earnings management incentives for VW in the future as a result of the emissions scandal? Explain. (Word limit: 250 words; 4 MARKS)3Q.Explain how the future earnings performance and financial position of VW would be affected as a result of the scandal. You need to be specific about which elements of the financial statements are likely to be affected and how. (Word limit: 300 words; 4 MARKS)
